Principal's Message

I am excited and very grateful for the opportunity to work with your student(s) at CKMS, and I know that it will be a wonderful year of getting to know one another and making magic happen with teaching and learning.

Dear CKMS families,

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and to express my excitement about taking on the role of your new Principal at CK. Not only is Catherine Kolnaski STEAM Magnet School a beautiful place to learn, but it’s a positive learning environment where your students can learn and thrive.  I am thrilled to take on this leadership position and know that this will be a great year.

A little about me - I have three young children and believe deeply in helping students learn while having fun at the same time. I lead with a student-centered and collaborative approach and have been in education for 24 years. I have served as an elementary principal in Pawtucket RI, and Warwick, RI, and at the district admin level in Warwick, RI, for a total of 14 years of administrative experience.  Before that, I worked as a music and grade five teacher.  I am excited to be your Principal – it’s the best job in the world.

Some dates to keep in mind for this year:

  • Meet and Greet your teacher – August 28, 2-2:30PM
  • PTO Meeting - Sept. 8
  • Open House/Fall Festival – Oct. 6
  • Scholastic Book Fair - Oct. 26-30
  • Turkey Trot – Nov. 24
  • Cookies and PJ Party – Dec. 8
  • Souper Supper – Feb. 9
  • STEAM Night – April 27
  • Field Day – June 4 (tentative)
