Computer Science
All students in grades K through 5 take a class in computer science. Using technology based, and unplugged activities students learn and explore computer science concepts including algorithms, loops, debugging, functions, events, and variables. We use code.org's curriculum and platform.
Kindergarten students are also exposed to computer science concepts and coding through appropriate center based activities.
Coding has been described as a new type of literacy as more and more communication happens through code generated technology. Our goal is to provide all of our students with a foundation in computer science as well as inspire some to pursue advanced studies and careers in computer engineering.
We also offer afterschool and summer programs that integrate computer science.
